Review: Sold To A Laird by Karen Ranney

I love Historical Romances!  They are adorable, and I have to admit, there is a factor squeezed in there that totally captures my heart.
Don't ask me why, because I don't know why, but I love reading historicals about women who'se fathers sell them off to a man they have never met.  I know, I sound terribly weird, but I like how they never give up.  The women are strong and brave and don't put up with the guy's bull shit.  Maybe that's why I like reading them... Hmm... Hahaha!

Sold To A Laird was remarkably cute!  The ending was so adorable I was smiling ear to ear.  Karen Ranney did a wonderful job when she wrote this Historical!
Sold To A Laird is about a man named Douglas.  Douglas is a Scotts, a self-made man who is living in England.  He has discovered a way to make dimonds and wants others to invest in his process.  His first stop is the duke's house.
The Duke is a cruel man, as well as a poor man, though no ones knows it.  When Douglas tells him about his project, he wants to invest, to become rich again!  But, how do you invest when you have no money?  You sell your daughter to the man!
Sarah is a beautiful girl.  She is sweet and oh so proper.  When Douglas first saw her, he was smitten.  He had to have her!  Good thing dear old dad wants them to marry...

I loved this book.  It was so adorable and is definetly staying on my shelf.  A bit more than the first half of the book is just about the evolving of Sarah and Douglas's relationship.  Only a few sex scenes.  If you are not big on sex scenes, or want to try romance books and ween yourself into it, this would be a good book to start with.

Review: Vampire, Interrupted by Lynsay Sands

Vampire, Interrupted is my second favorite Argeneau book!  (The first being Bite Me If You Can.)  In this next installment, you get find out what happened to Marguerite!
Turns out, life handed her a hunky vampire, a life mate as it is, that is damn good in bed.  But, don't worry, she's still working as a PI!  Her client, Christian Notte, wants to find out who his real mother is.  His father, said hunky vampire, Julius Notte, would never tell him, and still isn't talking.
Seems that Julius and Marguerite have met before, but only Julius remembers it.  Hmmm.. isn't that interesting...  Traveling all over Europe, scoring her memory for what used to be, and searching for Christian's birthmother, Marguerite travels along with Tiny (another PI) and Julius.  When they run in to trouble though, will all be safe?

Julius was to die for.  I bawled, I grinned, and I laughed still my sides hurt.  I fell in love with Christian too, and I want him to have his own book!!  Marguerite is always amazing in the other books she is in, but in this book, with everything focused on her, you learn so much more.  There is great insight to a lot, and you learn a new side of her that is adorable.

Review: Vampires Are Forever by Lynsay Sands

Let me just start out with Thomas Argeneau is fricken funny!!  He is a total jokester!

Ok, that said, on to the review:

Vampires Are Forever is the 8th book in Lynsay Sands' Argenau series.
Thomas is sent to go find Marguerite in Europe after she has dissapeared while working on her first PI case.  Bastien, Thomas's older cousin, who runs the Argeneau empire could not go because of his impending wedding.  Scared Thomas would mess up, since he is the baby of the family and can take nothing seriously, Bastien tells one of his top employees over in the European Argeneau office to help him out.  Lucky for Thomas, the girl is as beautiful as she is smart.
Meet Inez Urso.  She doesn't yet know about the existence of vampires even though she works for the Argeneau company.  (She hadn't gotten that high up the lader yet to know.)  Running around Europe can be quite romantic, don't you think?  Espcially when your running with a drop dead gorgeous male.

I totally loved this book.  I made family read it, only to get the same great results.  Sands is a master.

Review: The Accidental Vampire by Lynsay Sands

This was my very first Lynsay Sands book I have ever read.  At the time when I read, I didn't know it was a series.  Boy, am I glad now.  In all honesty, when I read it, I didn't think it was an amazing book, it wasn't my favorite, and I could have tossed it aside.
But,  then I started reading the other Argeneau books.  I fell in love with all of them, so why not this one?  Was it because I wasn't in the right midset?  I don't know, I couldn't tell you.  Maybe I was just insane. LOL  But, one thing is for sure, while The Accidental Vampire is not my favorite Argeneau book, it is defintly worth reading.

The Accidental Vampire is about Victor Argeneau, a vampire who works the Enforcers, vamp police.  Elvi is a-few-years-back-I-was-turned vampire.
Elvi was old, her hair gray.  She went on a trip with her equally old friend after her husband and daughter died tradgically.  While sight-seeing, Elvi's bus crashed, and she woke up a bit later thirsty as hell.  She was now a vampire, but how?!
Victor is sent to investiagte Elvi.  An add is put in the newspaper looking for a male vampire spouse, for Elvi of course.  It is Victor's job to find out if she is a nut case or a real vampire.  And, if real, then he has to see that she stops spreading word of her existence.
Turns out, Elvi is the real deal.  And, she needs some assistence being a vampire.  No one ever told her what she can and can't do.  So, Vic becomes her teacher... in a couple of ways.

Review and GIveaway: Ecstasy Unveiled by Larissa Ione- Blog Tour

DEMON ENSLAVED

Lore is a Seminus half-breed demon who has been forced to act as his dark master's assassin. Now to earn his freedom and save his sister's life, he must complete one last kill. Powerful and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing to carry out this deadly mission.

AN ANGEL TEMPTED

Idess is an earthbound angel with a wild side, sworn to protect the human Lore is targeting. She's determined to thwart her wickedly handsome adversary by any means necessary-even if that means risking her vow of eternal chastity. But what begins as a simple seduction soon turns into a passion that leaves both angel and demon craving complete surrender.

Torn between duty and desire, Lore and Idess must join forces as they battle their attraction for each other. Because an enemy from the past is rising again-one hellbent on vengeance and unthinkable destruction.

Ecstasy Unveiled is Larissa Ione's newest Demonica book.  I have been waiting for it to come out since I read Wrath's book (Passion Unleashed).  I love Lore, he is amazing.  But, then, what assassin in leather isn't?

Review: Bite Me If You Can by Lynsay Sands

Bite Me If You Can is personally my favorite Argeneau book!  I love a good bad boy and, while Lucian isn't a bad guy, he has a bad boy aura.  He is brooding and likes to be alone.  He is serious to the extreme, and that makes me want to make him crack a smile.
Lucian is a man in charge.  He is the oldest in the Argeneau family, and runs the Enforcers.  The Enforcers are kind of like vampire police, making sure secrets don't spill and everyone is safe.  While tracking down a crazy rouge vampire, he meets a newly turned vampire named Leigh Gerard.
Leigh is a grown woman who knows what she wants.  She owns and runs her own bar, and only got mixed up this whole crazy vampire mess because her employee had a huge crush on her.  I'm serious.  This guy, who also just got turned, wanted to be with Leigh forever, so he had his maker turn her as well.
So, once Lucian takes care of the crazies, he now has to take care of the hot vampire newbie.  He usually gives the newbies to his sister-in-law, Marguerite.  But, this time around, Marguerite is in Eruope working on a PI case (her new job).  So, Lucian is stuck teaching Leigh how to be a vampire.

Like I said, this is my favorite Argeneau book ever!  It made my sides hurt I was laughing so hard.  Leigh is out of it in the begining, and her first impression of Lucain is FUNNY!  I don't want to give away spoilers if you haven't read it yet, but I'm giggling right now just thinking back on it.  :)  This is a total must read.

Review: A Bite To Remember by Lynsay Sands

The 5th book in Lynsay Sand's Argeneau series, A Bite To Remember is a book to remember as one your all time favorites!  In this Argeneau book, Private Investigator, Jackie Morrisey is hired by Vincent Argeneau to help him out with a few set problems.
If you read the last book, then you will remember Vincent.  But, if not, keep your ears open (or in this case, your eyes).  Vincent is a vampire who lives in California, unlike most of his family who resides in Canada.  Vinny lives in California though, because he is an actor.  But, more than an actor, he also owns his own production company, with most of the employees being vampires.
Jackie is a human.  She knows about the Argeneaus and vampires in general though.  You see, her father, now dead, was a PI too.  One that handled quite a few vampire cases, usually the Argeneau's, back in his day.  And, now, it is Jackie's turn to help out the handsom family.
Vincent's present production, ironically it's Dracula on Broadway, is turning out to be a nightmare.  Someone is sabotaging everything, but who?  Jackie and her co-worker, a huge guy who loves to cook, named  Tiny, are going to find out.

A Bite To Remember is hilarious. I love that Tiny is a kick ass cook.  Vincent hasn't eaten in a couple hundred years, so when his appitight comes back, he eats everything in site.  It's very funny, but I expect nothing less from the brillant Lynsay Sands.

Review: Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down

Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down is an anthology.  That means it's a book with multiple shorter stories inside (all with different authors).  Authors in this one are: Sherrilyn Kenyon, Melanie George, and Jaid Black.

Sherrilyn Kenyon's story is called 'Capitavted' by You.  It is a story from her BAD series (Bureau of American Defense).  It is about a woman, who is an agent, and who has always had a crush on her male co-worker.  Ace Krux is hot, and he likes Rhea just as much.  So, when he has to get her ready for a job, he can't wait.  Escpecially when that job is training her to be a dominatrix (the mistress in a BDSM situation).  He has to get her ready to go undercover, but he wants to get under the covers as well...

Melanie George's story is called Promise Me Forever.  It is about a woman who is about to get married.  Savannah has a daughter, not with the man she is about to marry.  Donovan, not Savannah's fiance, is back in town.  He is an ex-football player.  When he finds out Savannah is about to get married, he has to see her.  Except, she won't see him.  So, he "kidnaps" her overnight.  She didn't want to go, but stayed very willingly.  Donovan later finds out that Savannah's kid is actually his daughter.  Yep, safe to say, the wedding is off.  At least, this one is.

Jaid Black's story is called Hunter's Right.  In Hunter's Right, Ronda is an army woman.  Her chopper crashes and she is the only survivor.  Ronda finds a civilation of Vikings, where she has to face the auction block, bridal style.  But, Nikolas, the man who found her, can save her by claiming her through old scared rights.  Wait until you see the sparks fly!

These weren't really long enough for me.  They ended and I was like 'where is the rest?  It can't end now!'  They were good, but not very fulfilling because of the length.  Kenyon's story seemed to wrap up better than the rest.

Save The Books!

It may or may not have come to your attention that Walden Bookstores (a Borders Group Inc. book franchise) will be closing 200 of it's stores this January of 2010.

Where are all those books going???
No, not a wonderful clearence sale.  Nope, they're not moving them to a new location or donating them either.  What are they doing with them them?
They are throwing them away!
That's right.  As in garbage cans and the dumps.  How dumb is that?  They are tossing brand new, profitable books out the window.. literally.  They are not just throwing books away, they are also throwing their money away as well.

Kate, over at The Neverending Bookshelf, gave me an idea.  She wrote to the people at Border's Group Inc. and I wanted to too.  So, without further ado, here is my letter and under that I will post the conact information in case you guys want to write to them too.

Hello,

My name is Kayla Johnson. I am a part time college student, a book blogger/reviewer, and, most importantly, a book lover. The other day I found out that, because Walden Books is closing, you are throwing away perfectly good, brand books. I ask, why?
Would it not be smarter to donate them? I heard you think that it is not worth it. Not worth what? You are throwing away money anyways! Libraries are in need, you could help them and many other local organizations!
If you didn't want to donate, you could move the books into one of the other book stores owned through the company. (Still, saving you money, not to mention many books!)
Or, you could put them in storage. Surely you can use them at a later time, could you not?

Am I saying this just for the hell of it? No. This is in both your best interest and mine. I love books, I find it a complete utter waste to toss them out. I'm sure you love money, and you are tossing it out. Are you seeing the pattern here?
In case you are a dunce and cannot, I'll just tell you: You are wasting both money and books!
We are in the middle of an economic drop at the moment, as I am sure you are well aware of. So, why toss more much needed money out the window?
I am sure that this letter will go to no good. After all, I am just one woman writing one letter to save books. But, even though one cause can be bigger than next, it doesn't mean it shouldn't have time, thought, and help behind it. I can't do much to help this cause, to save those books, but you can. Help me save the books. Please. Where would we be today without them?

Please think on what I have wrote.
Thank you,
Kayla Johnson

Review: Tall, Dark, and Hungry by Lynsay Sands

Tall, Dark, and Hungry is the fourth book in Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series.
Bastien Argeneau runs the family buisness, the blood bank.  His life is his work, he even sometimes sleeps in his office.  Bastien doesn't have much of a social life, as he is alwasy busy cleaning up messes someone is making, or helping out the family.  For the Argeneau's Bastien is your go-to guy.
Kate and Lucern, Bastien's older brother, are about to get married.  Bastien is helping to plan everything, and, Kate asks him and Lucern to pick up her cousin, her maid of honor, up from the airport.
Meet Terri Simpson.  Terri and Kate are very close, but that doesn't mean she knows Kate is marrying into a family of vamps.  Not supposed to be arriving for another two weeks, Terri wanted to surprise Kate and help with the wedding's finishing touches.
Meeting Terri at the airport, Bastien is wowed by Terri's beauty, and Terri finds Bastien equally attractive.  Lucern is (at the moment) living with Kate in her tiny apartment.  Because of this, Terri cannot stay with Kate, so Bastien offers up his place, a huge penthouse.  Terri agrees, and let's face it, Luc was happy too (more alone time with his soon-to-be wife).
Staying with Bastien, Terri finds herself falling for the man.  And, soon, the pair are near inseperable.

I know I say I love them all, but I seriously love everything Lynsay Sands writes.  Trust me, if there is ever a book she writes that I don't like, I'll tell you so you won't waste your money.  :)  Bastien is adorable and I can really relate with Terri, who is anything but supermodel thin.

Review: Single White Vampire by Lynsay Sands

The third book in Sands' Argeneau series, Love Bites features Lucern Argeneau and Kate C. Leever.
Lucern is Marguerite's oldest son.  The last few years, he has seen his younger sister and his younger brother (Lissianna and Etienne) both find their life mates and get married.  Being smart, he decided to write their stories down, so that future generations can remember the stories about how they found each other, yada, yada, yada...
Turns out, Lucern is such a good writer, he got published!  Kate is the publishing editor at the publishing company Lucern's books have been published through.  Lucern's amazing books have been catagorized as romance, and many people want the author to come to events and sign, etc.  So far, no one can get Lucern out of his house (he puts a pen name on his books).
Kate, a woman who doesn't like to take no for an answer, decides she will fly out and make Lucern come out to a romance convention.  At first, Lucern ignors the woman.  Then, Lucern's very in-your-buisness mother talks Luc into going to the convention.
After being stuck in a hotel for two weeks with a person, you can get pretty attached.  But, how can a relationship work living so far away from each other?

---
I love this book.  Lucern is everything you want in a guy, and Kate is pretty amazing too.

P.S. If you are wondering how to pronouce Lucern's name, it is like the milk brand Lucern (Loo- sir-n)

I am hosting my first ever contest!  It's on my other blog, here is the link: win win win!

Review: Love Bites by Lynsay Sands

Love Bites is the 2nd book in Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series. This book is about Etienne Argeneau, a video game designer, and a vampire, who falls in love with a woman named Rachel Garrett.
Rachel works in a morgue. One night, Rachel works the night shift, is brought in another man to examine. But, this man was still alive.
Etienne was shot leaving a business meeting, and unfortunately, was deemed dead. Being a vampire though, he doesn't die all that easily. In the morgue, he wakes up and heals, now that Rachel was removed the bullet from his body.
Still in the morgue, family members of Etienne's come to rescue him. Unfortunately, some bad guys came along as well. Rachel, who is completely human, was shot and dieing. But, Etienne couldn't let this woman who had just saved his life die. A vampire can only turn one person in his or her lifetime (by vampire law), but, what else could he do? Maybe she wasn't the one, but he couldn't let her die.
Feeling like crap, hungry as hell, and in a strange place, Rachel awoke. She finds herself in Etienne's home, and a vampire! Etienne must keep her around until she learns how to live as a vampire, and in the process, finds himself falling in love with the beautiful woman.
Love Bites was so funny! Rachel seemed like a real person, and Etienne was as adorable as adorable can be! It was great. It's staying on my shelf to reread.

Review: A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands

A Quick Bite is Lynsay Sands' "first" Argeneau book. (Technically, it wasn't published first, but it was written as the first in the series.)
In A Quick Bite, Lissianna is a vampire who faints at the sight of blood. Some vampire, huh? (Hahaha) She had a traumatic experience when she was a child that made feeding hard for her. Hard, because, how do you drink your blood if you faint at the sight?
At Lissianna's birthday party, her mother has a surprise for her. It's waiting in her bedroom.
Meet Dr. Gregory Hewitt, you can call him Greg. Greg treats people who are like Lissianna. No, he doesn't treat vampires, but he helps people get over their issues so they may live a more normal life.
Marguerite, Lissianna's mom, had kidnapped Greg. She thought that would be the best birthday present ever! So, Marguerite brought Greg home and tied him to Lissi's bed. What a surprise, huh? Don't you wish your mother was as thoughtful?
Greg decides to help Lissianna. Her mother kidnapping him wasn't her fault, and, if he was being truthful with himself, he just wanted to spend more time with the compelling, beautiful woman.

I love Lynsay Sands. She is hilarious! All her books, no matter what she is writing, is full of humor. Her Argeneau series is amazing as well.

Review: My Shadow Warrior by Jen Holling

My Shadow Warrior is Jen Holling's last book in her Brides of the Bloodstone trilogy.  This book is all about the youngest sister in the MacDonell family, Rose, and, as you can tell from the cover, her falling in love.  *swoons*
If you have read the previous books, then you will know that Alan MacDonell, Rose's father is deathly ill.  No one can figure out what he has and how to heal him.  Rose, a witch and a healer herself, takes the sole responcibility for her father's health.  Because of this, and the love for her father, she sets out to find the Wizard of the North, a man who is said to have amazing healing powers.
Rose finds the man.  He's trapped in his own home.  He is a lord, and his villagers have tried to kill him (they witch hunted in those days) forcing him to stay hidden.  After some persuation, Rose gets the wizard, William, to come back with her to heal her father.
Along the way, though, Rose finds herself drawn to the handsome man, and his darling daughter.  Alas, Rose is already bretrothed.  A boy from her childhood no more, Jamie is now a man, and leader of his clan.  He is a good looking man too, but Rose isn't drawn to him as she is William.

I would love to go on and on and on right now about the book, and how wonderful it was.  But, I know I have to stop now so I don't give it all away.  I love this series, it's adorable, and I love highlanders! ;)  This is a great book.  Solid characters, good plotting (actually, it was fantastic plotting in this particular book!), the characters were in enough depth so I felt like I knew them, but not too much depth were I was bored to death with details.  It was a really great book!

Review: My Devilish Scotsman by Jen Holling

My Devilish Scotsman is Jen Holling's second book in her Brides of the Bloodstone trilogy. (The first is My Wicked Highlander.)

The trilogy follows the story of three sisters (each one with their own book). Two of the sisters are witches, but, the middle one, Gillian, is without any powers. It's a scary time to live in Scotland. Witch burnings are happening everywhere, and anyone can be a witch, even the neighbor's dog!
The girl's father had sent them away, to each live seperatly, where it would less dangerous after their own mother had been burned at the stake. Now, their father is deathly ill and he calls them all home. The girls haven't seen each other in years, and soon they will be leaving each other's company again. Their father has called them home so he could get them wed off. Once wed, they will have a husband to protect them, and he can die knowing his girls are safe.
In My Devilish Scotsman, the eldest sister, Isobel, has already been wed off. She has married a knight she fell in love with, instead of the man her father picked out. Now, the man once scorn by Isobel, is to wed her younger sister, Gillian. Gillian isn't nervous to wed Lord Nicholas Lyon, twelfth earl of Kincreag. The man is said to have murdered his previous wife, but Gillian knows it can't be so. Why would he be her father's best friend if it were such?
Gillian finds her earl to be a beautiful man. He might be a bit rough around the edges, but Gillian is sure she can polish him up. But, what happens when Gillian finds out she is a witch, one that can see and speak to the dead? And, what will happen when Nicholas's first wife shows up from beyond the grave?
I was so excited to finally get this book! It was wonderful and I'm making my mother read it right now. :) The characters were great, the plot was well thought out, and Jen Holling had me laughing like a fool! If you like Historicals and Highlanders, then you will love this book!

Review: 4:Play by Jess Scott

4 : Play is Jess Scott's second novel. It is a collection of "erotic" stories. I quote that because, while they it is called erotic, I put I would call it "fluffy sex." (There were some details, but it was not graphic enough to be considered erotica.) The book contains 10 short stories, all ranging in both plotting, and length.
4 out of the 10 stories are male/female relationship stories, one mixing a (known) brother and sister together. 1 of the tales is female/female, and the remaining 3 stories are male/male encounters. The last one (if you counted there was only 9) is a collection of poems.
If you like to read erotica, then this sounds like a great collection of stories. Personally, I find books like this, to hold stories that seem to be too short for me. I like to have stories with good structure and characters that stay around long enough to fall for.
That being said, I do like some anthologies as long as they are well written. This, however, is not one of them. Everything was written in a first person POV (I, me, etc.) I much prefer to read in third person. The majority of novels are written in third person, and they seem to be a more comfortable way to read.
The effort is there, but the stories seem dull. The characters have no real character to them. The writing itself can use improvement, and there is a lot of information that can be cut out entirely. Overall, I was not very impressed with 4: Play.

Interview with author Jess Scott

Hey readers!  Today we have a special treat, an interview with author Jess Scott.  Jess has written Eyelash: A Blog Novel and 4:Play, a book she calls "multiple genre crossing".  So, without further ado, here is Jess Scott..

SWR: Tell us a little about yourself.

JS: I'm a writer, artist, dreamer, doer, and non-conformist.

SWR: Have you always wanted to be an author, or did you have other dreams growing up?

JS:  I think being an author has always been the strongest vocation. I've had many other dreams/aspirations/considerations. I recall wanting to be a hairstylist, psychologist, criminologist, ESL teacher, physiotherapist -- the list goes on!

SWR:  What has been your favorite book to write and why?

JS:  My favorite book to write tends to be the project I'm currently working on. Maybe it's because I get a kick out of the actual writing process. My first book is a blog/IM novel; it was quite a challenge to get together (especially with the formatting). My second book is an erotic short story collection; it was challenging in the sense that I wanted to maintain an element of (racial, sexual, and neurological) diversity throughout the stories. The third book, which I'm in the process of tweaking, is more mainstream than the first two -- it's been fun seeing to this one also.

SWR:  Tell us about the road to publication. Was it difficult?

JS:  Yes, it was. I spent half a year discussing EyeLeash: A Blog Novel, with an interested YA acquisitions editor, but he left for another publishing house. Not many people wanted to take a look at 4:Play, because it was a short story collection by a single author. It also doesn't fit nicely into a specific genre. So I've had to take matters into my own hands (if only because I'm a "poor college student"). I came up with self-designed book covers, and self-produced book trailers -- it turned out to be a better experience than I expected. Tremendously tiring, but worth the trouble.

SWR:  Do you have a muse? What inspires you to write?

JS:  My favorite classic authors (Edgar Allan Poe and Oscar Wilde, etc.), music, and the world/humanity in general. Inspiration comes from every source imaginable.

SWR:  How can fans connect with you? (social networking sites, websites, etc.)

JS:
Website: http://www.jesscscott.com/

Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/jesscscott

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jesscscott

Google (full list): http://www.google.com/profiles/missfey

SWR:  Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

JS:  Aim high, and keep going.

Thanks Jess!

Review: All The Right Reasons by Sandy James

All The Right Reasons is Sandy James' 3rd book in her Damaged Heros series.  The book tells the story of a man named Lucas who comes home from fighting in Iraq.  The war has changed Lucas though.  He comes home from fighting bitter and guilty over his friend's death in Iraq.  In order to deal with his pain, Lucas decides to buy an old mansion and fix it up, as well as fix up a few retired racehorses.
Now, what girl doesn't fall for a broken man?  We all want to be the one who fixes them, right?  Well, Joy must have had the same idea.  She falls for Lucas, but is that a good thing?   Joy's family is a very traditional group of gypsy desendents.  Because of this, her family has chosen a husband for Joy, a man who is not Lucas.
Being forced to not follow your own dreams and will doesn't really fit any girl's agenda, including Joy.  Joy wants to help this man she has fallen for, and she wants him to help her right back.  Help her to get out of her parent's marriage idea.

The book was very cute and an overall good read!  I will definetly be telling my friends about this book!

Review: The Mage by Jean Johnson

The Mage is the last enstallment in Jean Johnson's Sons of Destiny series.  (For those of you who haven't yet read anything by Jean, that means it is the 8th [and last] book in this series.)
The Sons of Destiny is about 8 brothers, mages (think wizards in another universe).  The brothers were exiled to live on an island all alone.  Seven books later and 7 out of the 8 brothers is happily married.  The island is now filled with people, and the family is making the island an independent kingdom.
In The Mage, Morganen, our last single brother, meets his pre-destined bride.  He already knows who she is, and she, Hope, is ready to finally see Morg.
Hope previously lived in the same universe Kelly used to live in.  (Kelly is the eldest brother's wife)   So, when she finally comes across to Nightfall Island and sees Morganen in the flesh, she is estatic.  They court (date), fall even further for each other, and then complications pop up.  (Don't they always?)

**You do not have to read the books on order to understand the story, but I would recommend it because of spoliers**

In reading order The Sons of Destiny:
The Sword
The Wolf
The Master
The Song
The Cat
The Storm
The Flame
The Mage
