Funny and Favorite Quotes

For those you that don't know, Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my all time favorite authors.  When I say this, I men she ranks in my top 5.  So, today is un-officially Kenyon day with, you guessed it, a load of Kenyon quotes!  Enjoy!

"Life isn't finding shelter in the storm. It's about learning to dance in the rain."

-Zarek from Acheron

------

"Relax. You're in good hands. Tabby wont hurt you. - Ash
She stabbed me! - Valerius
Damn! I told her not to stab any more Hunters. I hate it when she does that. - Ash"

from Seize the Night

------

"WHAT ARE YOU, NUTS? THE MAN'S A VAMPIRE!

Yeah, but he's a really, REALLY sexy one."

from Night Pleaures

-------

"You must have had such a great childhood with a man like that for your father."

"Yeah. All puppy dogs and rainbows and those weird furry people with padded coat hangers on their heads that look like space aliens on acid."

Berith paused as he brushed debris off his clothes to frown. "You mean the Teletubbies?"

Jericho gave him a smirk. "The fact that you know what they're called, Berith, truly scares me."

Berith shrugged. "As a demon of torture, it behooves me to know all things that are deeply annoying. You'd be amazed how many people in the modern age no longer fear zombies as much as Teletubbies."

Jericho snorted. "Not really. I'd rather battle a brain-eating zombie any day than hear them sing."

from Dream Warrior

----
"And I flunked anger management the moment I put the counselor through a stone wall. You might want to keep that in mind.

-Thorn"

from Bad Moon Rising

-------

"What? It's not my fault I stab all the fanged people. They shouldn't look like Daimons. -Tabitha

I didn't look like a Daimon, but you stabbed me. -Valerius

Yeah, well, you looked like a lawyer so I had to kill you. It was a moral imperative. -Tabitha"
from Seize the Night

Review: Dangerous Games

This is the first Lora Leigh I have read.  I have several others sitting on my shelf, but this is the first one I have read.  Oh My Goodness!  It was wonderful!!

Navy SEAL Clint “Iceman” McIntire didn’t earn his nickname by being a coward. Or a quitter. Having crushed an infamous drug cartel in Colombia, Clint was nothing short of an American hero. Now he’s home, on a much-needed leave, but instead of some R&R, he finds himself neck-deep in trouble with his best friend’s little sister, Morganna Chavez, the only woman who has the power to bring him to his knees. . .
Morganna has been secretly working with the DEA to uncover a thriving date-rape drug, which leads her to a shadowy faction that is more deadly than anything her team has ever encountered. Now it’s up to Clint to keep this beautiful, determined agent out of harm’s way, even while the passion between them threatens to consume them. Soon Clint’s greatest mission will be not just keeping Morganna safe, but getting her into his arms and never letting go.

Now, I'm not going to lie, the book has a nice little BDSM background to it.  So, if you are not comfortable with bondage, skip his book.  I, on the other hand, am extreamly fine with it, so I thought the book was hot, hot, hot!

I just don't know where to start with Clint.. I was not crazy about his name.  I just wasn't feeling it.  At the end of the book, I still was not crazy about his name.  Clint himself, however, is another story.  I love his character!

Morganna.  This is the type of female character that I wanted to grow up to be like.  Sexy, confident, kick-ass, independent, strong willed.  Her character was awesome.  I loved the fact that even though she had 2 overbearing males breathing down her neck, she still could roll her eyes at them, and be as indepensent as she wanted.

This was a great book.  I can't wait to read the other books in the series.  I know I am out to get Rescue Me with Mason "Macey" March next!  He was featured in Dangerous Games and whoa, I need this book!

Spicy= wow! That's hot!

Favorite and Funny Quotes

Grace laughed.  "The Hard Rock Cafe is a restaurant."

He looked aghast.  "You eat at a place that advertises its food is hard as a rock?"

"I believe Julis may have been barking rather franticlly at the time as well," Lucian announced.

"You believe?"  Marguerite asked dryly.

"I had my ear plugs in to drown out the screaming," Lucian explained.

Leigh gaped at the man.  Geez, he was all heart.

There was a long drawn-out sigh across the phone.  "She probably thought you were some mad killer."

"That's what the police said," Lucian agreed.

"The police?" Marguerite squawked.

"Everything is fine," he said shortly.  "I explained everything."

"What exactly did this Sister Eustice explain, my lady?"

Her brows rose slightly.  "She explained about the bedding.  About how 'twas like Angus and Maude."

"Angus and Maude?"  His ears perked up at the male name.  "Who the devil is Angus?"

"Our bull."

"Your bull," he echoed blandkly.  "And Maude would be--"

"The abby cow."

"Of course," he said faintly, understanding dawning on him.  Horror followed.  "And this Sister Eustice told you that--"

"'Tis the same thing," she filled in calmly, then added, "You will mount me, insert your cucumber--"

"Cucumber?" His voice cracked on the word, and she flushed with embarrassment.

"Well, your bull-thing then," she improvised quickly.

"Nay?"

"A cock is a male chicken, my lord.  That looks nothing like a male chicken, more like a mushroom."

Favorite and Funny Quotes

I read so many great romances, and some of the lines just about kill me with laughter.  So, I am going to start sharing some of my favorite quotes with you guys, in hopes that you will want to pick up these super awesome books and read them, or maybe remember reading them at some point in the past and laugh with me.

"Did you hear me?  I said get out of the water."

Unaffected by his brusqueness, she swam to the shallow bank meeting him halfway.  As she ascended from the dappled liquid, the white undergarments she wore clung to her curves like a dedicated lover, revealing the pink thrust of her nipples and the dark patch of hair between her legs.

He had to force himself to look away.  When she was within arm's reach, he clasped her by the forearm and helped her to shore.

"Don't touch me, I'll make you wet," she protested.

"That's my line," he muttered.

Fishing

Thanks to my old friend Jackson Lores for the guest post.

Fishing is a traditional hobby that’s gone through my family for ages. I even have a few uncles who make a living off it. I have personally learned to love it, especially during the summer.

Summer is the best time to fish. You get up at the crack of dawn when it’s quiet and no one else is awake. You go to a nice quiet lake or pond, cast your line, and relax as you watch the water wade. It’s a hobby for those who know how to be silent and patient. My grandfather was the one who taught me the fish. He had me on fishing trips with him since I was five years old. He taught me all the tips and tricks, and I have learned to respect them just as much as I respect the sport.

My favorite thing about fishing is that it brings my family together. Not only do I go fishing, but I also bring my wife and kids with me whenever I can get the chance. My wife barbecues and sets up a the picnic as I teach the kids all the things my grandfather once taught me. It’s a priceless experience.

When I’m not fishing, I can watch programs with my kids about hobby or sport fishing on my direct tv georgia fishing channel. The family legacy will live on.
