Review: Dragon Warrior by Janet Chapman

The steamy second book in Janet Chapman’s dazzling Midnight Bay series seduces readers with an enticing tale of a fiery independent woman and an irresistible immortal warrior with a dragon’s courageous heart.

Maddy Kimble has no time for a suitor—not with caring for her spunky nursing home patients, her shy nine-year-old daughter, her widowed mother, and her rebellious teenage brother. William Kilkenny’s stunning lack of modern dating protocol doesn’t help. The man is uncouth and outrageous—a towering, drop-dead, breathtakingly hot warrior. Who refuses to give up.

William is secretly a ninth-century Irish nobleman formerly trapped in a dragon’s body. All Maddy knows is that lately, she can hardly resist the urge to lose herself in his powerful arms. But as their uncontrollable passion grows, eerie occurrences in her small coastal Maine town begin to rouse Maddy’s suspicions about her lover. He begs her to trust him, but how can she surrender—body and soul—when she fears the danger he poses to her yearning heart? Description taken from here.

I was literally laughing my butt off by page 5.  I am not joking at all.  The characters were excellently made and the plot was gorgeous.  I loved this book so much. While the book was hilarious, it also had a backbone which made the book that much sweeter, because it carried a perfect depth and description.  I just loved this book.  Period.

This is the second book in the series.  The first being Moonlight Warrior (which I may or may not have reviewed, I honestly cannot remember for the life of me.)  I put the book down somewhere around the middle of the book and never picked it up again.  I was making myself read it, it just was not catching my attention at all.  And, reading this book, I cannot fathom why I did not like that book.  The characters that were in the first book are also in this one, and I like them.  The only thing I can think of is that I was just not in the mood for that kind of book (paranormal). I go through spurts you see, for a few weeks I cannot get enough of historical romances, and then I turn to paranormals and so on.  So, I am going to go pick up a copy of the first book (that of course I don't own anymore) and read it, because I know I am going to love it since I loved this one so dang much.   (Update:)  Well I got Moonlight Warrior and re-read it; and absolutly LOVED it!!!  You can read my review of it here.

So yes, I loved this book and I will suggest this book to anyone who will stand there long enough to listen to me (even those people that I know don't read much).

Because I keep saying - you would love to read and you would keep on reading if only you would find the right book.

And girlies, this is the right kind of book!

Until Next Time,
Happy Reading!
